How to change screenshot format png → jpg

To save screenshots in JPG, execute the following commands in the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg;killall SystemUIServer

macOS also support: tiff, pdf, bmp & pict.

These instructions assume you’re using the Terminal app out of the box, without ZSH or any fancy prompts like that. I trust you will be able to adapt these instructions yourself if you do.

Step 1 : Create a symlink called sublime

sudo ln -s "/Applications/Sublime Text.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl" /usr/local/bin/sublime

Step 2 : Check that your system profile can find the symlink you just created.

open ~/.bash_profile

Step 3 : Add both these lines & then save the file :

alias subl="open -a /Applications/Sublime\ Text.app"

export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH

Step 4 : Reload your bash_profile :

source ~/.bash_profile

Done ! You can now navigate to any of your code/script folders in Terminal and open them in Sublime with the following commands :

subl .
subl .zshrc

How to make current window screenshot in Mac

Command + Shift + 4 then hit Spacebar

To disable the creation of .ds_store files, launch the Terminal application from /Applications/Utilities/ and enter the following command string exactly:

defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true

Reboot the Mac for changes to take full effect.

The login screen on your Mac is perfectly functional as it is, but if you want to spice it up a little bit, blogger Jacob Salmela shows you how to customize the login screen with a logo of your choosing.

If you don't want to install a whole program just for a simple tweak it's easy to do manually. All you need is a PNG that's 428 X 248. Then, you'll need to save it as four different files.

Here's instructions:

You need four copies of this file, and they need to be named:

  • apple.png
  • apple@2x.png
  • apple_s1.png
  • apple_s1@2x.png

Once they are named correctly, just drag them into the following path:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/LoginUIKit.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LoginUICore.framework/Resources/

and then choose to replace all of them.

That's it, log out, and you should see your new logo. Head over to Salmela's site for a few sample images and instructions for making your own.

After I check the folder, I just know that the folder owned by “root” user.

ls -lah
sudo chown whoami .config

To disable the creation of .ds_store files, launch the Terminal application from /Applications/Utilities/ and enter the following command string exactly:

defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true

First - open Finder -> Go to folder -> /Library/Caches

The second - find file com.apple.desktop.admin.png and replays it with your image ;) filename need be same = com.apple.desktop.admin.png. You also may rename jpg file to png without converting.

1520267119870.jpeg 8d0e6

Open Terminal and enter the following in a single line:

/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\ Extras/User.menu/Contents/Resources/CGSession -suspend

Launch the Terminal, you'll see a list of all your messages. From the mail prompt, do

$ mail
? delete *
? q

And that should be it. Make sure do to the q after the delete * command, that saves the changes to disk.

Here’s the command. Just paste this line into your Terminal, and press return.

defaults write com.apple.screencapture disable-shadow -bool true
killall SystemUIServer

To test out your new screenshot settings, just take a quick screenshot by pressing the key combination command-shift-4, followed by the spacebar. You should end up with a beautifully clean window screenshot, free of drop shadows. The best part about this is that your screenshot’s dimensions will now finally match the window’s dimensions, without all that added padding introduced by the drop shadow. Nice, huh?

If you no longer want these cleaned up windows, you can switch back to the normal shadowed screenshots by pasting the following into your Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture disable-shadow -bool false
killall SystemUIServer

Well done!

On Windows, I could use Tab to shift focus from button to button, so I could "click" on the desired button without having to use a mouse.

It appears that I can't do the same thing on a Mac, or is there a way to do it that I didn't realize?

There is. From System Preferences, under Keyboard » Keyboard Shortcuts, you can enable Full Keyboard navigation. You can also change this by pressing Control+F7

MacOS comes with Python installed. But to make sure that you have Python installed open the terminal and run the following command.

python --version

If this command returns a version number that means Python exists. Which also means that you already have access to easy_install considering you are using macOS/OSX. Now, all you have to do is run the following command.

sudo easy_install pip

After that, pip will be installed and you'll be able to use it for installing other packages. For try if pip working well use:

pip --version

If you want install another modules - you can do this, for example:

pip install regex

Then runing

sudo pip3 install beautifulsoup4

Microdata makes it possible to search engines to understand important details about your site's content. Microdata provides Google and Bing with extra information about your content such as names, descriptions, dates and ratings. And, because search engines can understand your data more clearly, they often reward you with a higher ranking.

In Joomla, microdata support was quietly added in Joomla 3.3 which was released in April 2014. The best to way to provide microdata is by using your template.

Some templates provide microdata support, but many do not. If your template was released before April 2014, it probably doesn't support microdata and will need to be updated.

I'm going to show you how to test your template and then add microdata if needed.

function compresscss ( $data, $url ) {
        global $current_css_url;
        $current_css_url = $url;
        /* remove comments */
        $data = preg_replace('!/\*[^*]*\*+([^/][^*]*\*+)*/!', '', $data);
        /* remove tabs, spaces, new lines, etc. */
        $data = str_replace(array("\r\n", "\r", "\n", "\t", '  ', '    ', '    '), ' ', $data);
        /* remove unnecessary spaces */
        $data = preg_replace('/[ ]+([{};,:])/', '\1', $data);
        $data = preg_replace('/([{};,:])[ ]+/', '\1', $data);
        /* remove empty class */
        $data = preg_replace('/(\}([^\}]*\{\})+)/', '}', $data);
        /* remove PHP code */
        $data = preg_replace('/<\?(.*?)\?>/mix', '', $data);
        /* replace url*/
        $data = preg_replace_callback('/url\(([^\)]*)\)/', 'replaceurl', $data);
        return $data;
}

In this article, I would like to share some hacking tips about how to improve User Experience (UX) for eCommerce websites. This is a very interesting topic because by increasing UX, you can generate more sales and also obtain and maintain customers. No need to wait more, we are going to the first tip now.

Use white space in your favor.

With ecommerce websites, white space can be used in order to improve user experience. We call any blank area on your site is white space, and no matter what color it is. Using white space is a good way to highlight images of products and their details. If you present too many products in only one page, it seems that you are trying to force the consumers to buy all those, and sometimes it also makes your layout more clutter.

If you are also a retailor, have your ever thought that you will be the formidable opponent of the giant like Amazon and Walmart or at least you desire to compete with them? If our answer is yes, you should build an actually powerful online selling system. So, the core of your marketing strategy should be conversion rate, not just traffic because traffic is just the visible part of the iceberg. There is one thing which is always true that a company selling well will gain high conversion rate. That is the evident truth.

A common mistake of many business owners is putting too much efforts on stimulating traffic amount and almost forgetting conversion rate. If traffic is not converted, what does that high traffic amount mean?  After all, rate of conversion or purchasing seems to be the most proper criteria to evaluate whether how well your business works.

Life has been changing and the way we shopping is now totally different from the past. Nowadays, queuing up outside stores or traveling a long distance to buy something you want from your favorite retailers is just in the past, it’s time for you to forget them. While retail industry is still the billions industry, there is another one has appeared and gone along with the development of retail, that is Ecommerce. It can be said that making the sale online is never a difficult task, especially when you have already had Magento store. From the first time, Magento has been considered as one of the best online store development platforms, business owners love it due to the powerful features provided.
